Two Days in las Vegas: A Nevada Weekend
Las Vegas is a dazzling desert destination made especially famous by its world-class casinos and nightlife. Home to Harry Reid International Airport, the city also acts as a gateway to the Southwest.

Is two days in Las Vegas enough time?
Two days is the perfect amount of time for a fun weekend getaway to Sin City. Since most of the famous Las Vegas hotels and attractions are located along the Strip, it is an easy destination to explore by foot.
However, if you do have extra time I recommend exploring beyond the Strip including some of the surrounding national and state parks.

Two DayS in Las Vegas - Itinerary
Las Vegas Day 1 - The Strip & Fremont Street

Las Vegas Strip
With only two days, your time is certainly best spent exploring the Strip. You will be transported to other worlds, not only including New York, but also Egypt and Italy. My favourite Las Vegas hotels both to explore and to stay include:
Bellagio
Caesar’s Palace
Paris Las Vegas
The Palazzo
The Venetian.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Bellagio Las Vegas is undeniably the most famous hotel on the Strip, with so much to explore in this venue alone. Besides the casino, one of the highlights is the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, a gorgeous display of colourful flora in the grand sunroom. The Conservatory is free to visit, even if you are not staying at Bellagio as a guest. Since the display is changed five times a year, it is worth visiting even if not your first time in the city.
Buffet at Bellagio
Another must-do experience is the Buffet at Bellagio – who doesn’t love a good buffet? Pile your plate with everything from Bellagio-branded pancakes, to sushi, seafood, pasta, cheesecake and so much more. Definitely visit at lunchtime for the brunch selection, noting that there will be longer wait times on weekends. In order to skip the line, make a make a pre-paid reservation for an extra fee.
Since Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace holds the official title of best buffet in Las Vegas, this is the best alternative. Whilst reservations can be made, the regular brunch is only available on Monday and Thursday mornings.
Bellagio Fountains
While a lot of the fun hides inside the casinos, the Fountains of Bellagio are a romantic exception. I recommend viewing the Water Show at least twice: once during the day facing Bellagio, as well as once at night facing Paris Las Vegas. Staying at Bellagio will also afford you incredible views over the fountains, especially at night. Running every 15-30 minutes depending on the day, check the schedule here before visiting.

Fremont Street Experience
The Fremont Street Experience is without a doubt the city’s hidden gem, an area lined with bars and old-school casinos. As shown above, the Viva Vision Light Show illuminates the venue in all shades of neon and gold each night. Thrill-seekers can also enjoy flying above the crowds on the SlotZilla Zipline from USD$49*.
Entry to Fremont Street is free, although you must be over 21 years of age to enter after 9PM.
Nightlife
If you are looking to experience some of the best nightlife in the world, then you have come to the right place. Although bars and clubs can be exclusive (and expensive) here, the wait time will be worth it for a memorable night of cocktails and dancing. With this in mind, my recommendations for a night out include:
Encore Beach Club at Encore Resort
The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan
Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World.
Las Vegas Day 2 - Outlet Shopping & Shows
North Las Vegas Premium Outlets
The North Las Vegas Premium Outlets provide some of the best shopping in the USA, not to mention a more affordable alternative to the Strip’s designer fashion. The mall is home to over 300 stores, including Lululemon, Dolce & Gabbana, and even a Shake Shack for a well-earned lunch stop. The easiest way to get to the outlets is via Deuce bus for just USD$8*.
High Roller
The appropriately-named High Roller is surprisingly the largest observation wheel in North America. Definitely ride the wheel at sunset in order to see the sky light up in pink before the desert comes alive with neon lights. It is certainly worth booking tickets in advance from USD$25*.

Thinking of Visiting Las Vegas on a group trip?
Las Vegas Show
End your two days in Sin City by catching an iconic Las Vegas Show. Check the vegas.com website to see what is showing for the dates of your visit. Tickets typically cost between USD$50-150*, however this depends on seat selection and other factors.
Cirque du Soleil always blow me away and is a great year-round option. They currently have five shows at various locations, including:
KÀ – MGM Grand
Mad Apple – New York New York
Michael Jackson ONE (my personal favourite) – Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino
Mystère – Treasure Island
O – Bellagio.
BONUS: Las Vegas Day 3 - Day Trip
Day Trip
Although mostly known for its food, shopping and nightlife, Sin City’s surrounding area is home to some incredible desert landscapes. So, if you have an extra day to spend here I recommend exploring one of the following options on a day trip. All options can be booked through Get Your Guide, however if your budget allows I also recommend Pink Adventure Tours for those extra photo opportunities.
Death Valley National Park
Death Valley National Park is a great day trip, located 2.5 hours from the city. The park is home not only to sand dunes, volcanic craters and salt pans but also a historic ghost town. Despite its name, there is a lot to explore in this remarkable landscape.
Due to its record as the hottest place on Earth I only recommend visiting Death Valley outside of the scorching Summer months.

Grand Canyon National Park
Grand Canyon National Park is on everyone’s bucket list, and justifiably so. Sin City is located a four-hour drive from the canyon’s South Rim, a great place to spend the day hiking the Rim Trail. You will certainly not be disappointed by the beautiful layers of geological history here that wind along the Colorado River.
Valley of Fire State Park
Often overlooked by Death Valley, Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks, Valley of Fire State Park is a hidden gem located just one-hour from the city. Within the park you can explore slot canyons, rock fields and burning-red rocks that stretch as far as the eye can see. Movie buffs will also love the scenes straight out of Transformers and Total Recall.
